  • OLD LADIES

i forgot to post this yesterday…. but since reading andy’s recent blog i just remembered….

SOME old ladies are awesome (minus the rude one that andy
encountered… and the one that BUMPED into my sister and chewed her
out even though it was the old lady’s fault… then my sister told her she
was gonna die when she saw her later…this is what a poor college girl
does with no sleep and is aggravated by a mean old lady)

majority of my mom’s old lady customers at the store are pretty cool…
really open and friendly… yesterday this one old lady, who just
started coming to the store, came in again for framing and she was
talking about her husband (who passed away)… and mid conversation i
noticed she needed XYZ and her belt was only in like two loops….i had
to motion my mom to tell her b/c i think i’d just feel embarrassed
about telling her… my mom told her as she started leaving and the
reaction totally threw me off…i’ve come to the realization that as
you get older, you’re pretty open about things…. but anyway… she
came back and was fixing herself and mentioned “thank you…. gee…
seems like and OPEN INVITATION!”  at that point i was smiling and
after she left my mom and i thought it was so cute….

and then there is the 90 year old woman who enjoys collecting art…
and who STILL want to collect art…she’s pretty awesome; still drives,
recently had cancer and was told she was gonna die but went to another
dr… and was treated and the cancer is all gone! and since she’s
recovered she brought me her batch of her yummy ginger snap cookies!
    mmmmm…

AND LAST but not least MY GRANDMA… i swear sometimes she’s like
super-grandma or something, driving up to the city to sing karaoke,
taisho koto lessons, gardening, redoing the japanese garden and moving
rocks (btw she does this sometimes when we’re NOT at home)…. oh
yeah… one time my grandma moved this HUGE freezer, b/c she said she
couldn’t wait for everyone to come home, so she just did it… go
    figure….CRAZY woman…

here’s to the COOL old ladies! and a boo to the cranky ones who b/c
they’re miserable, they have to ruin everyone else’s good times….
