WARNING… LOTS of PICTURES in this entry
saturday 6.13
we checked out of the hotel…we’d only be gone for 2 nights… so we packed a suitcase and left the rest of our stuff at the concierge…took a taxi and bought our tix for ferry and went through immigration….it was meghan’s first ferry ride…unfortunately we didn’t eat lunch so she became a little fussy towards the end… luckily we had some raisins… but that didn’t last very long… we were all sitting in the middle, but we saw some people move to window seats after the boat launched… so i snagged a window seat so meghan could check out where we were going…

meghan watching ging ging fill out immigration forms…meghan looking out the window… and meghan and mommy
we arrived and then headed out… but first we had to go through immigration… and that took awhile… there were some pretty long lines… and it was kinda hard to keep meghan entertained…again… thank GOD for the raisins… after that, we were pointing out everything we could find and asking her what color things where and whatnot… can i tell you it was a relief when we finally went through… it seems like we ended up with the immigration agents that take the longest…. oh well whatever..
went out of the ferry terminal to the wynn free shuttle bus… got in… then we had to wait a little bit and then a million other people piled in… definitely not people who would be staying at the wynn, but most likely locals… later i looked out and saw a HUGE line… and looked like these people were waiting for the free shuttles… whatever room any of the shuttles had i’m assuming they took…
drove down their “strip” and headed into the lobby. pat was checking in, while my mil and i were trying to keep meghan happy and occupied by showing her the floral carpet… thank god it was interesting…

wynn lobby window looking out onto the pool…meghan checking out the cool colors on the rug
got to our room and it was nice to have something HUGE…the other hotel we had 2 twin beds… and thank god for 2 queen sized beds… it was nice to sleep and not have to worry about falling off… haha… we were actually able to give meghan a nice bath, which she always enjoyed….

nice comfy beds… tv… HUGE window with remote control curtain closer… meghan had fun with that…
we hadn’t eaten lunch at all and we were all pretty much starving so we went down to the cafe for food……. i decided to get a burger b/c who knew how long we’d have to wait till dinner or whatever…we got meghan a fruit plate and she was actually well behaved, considering she never likes to sit in a high chair for more than a few minutes…

where we ate… my much more yummier and bigger burger than that other place… meghan trying some mango, sitting nicely
we happened to see the groom’s dad walk by… and then i saw steve wynn… pat caught him as he was just passing by… later we went back up and gave meghan a bath and huge tub… read her some books and put her to sleep… although we thought she was just going to take a nap… she ended up sleeping for AWHILE….

meghan looking out from where the elevators were…the casino lisboa, the OG casino in macau…meghan checking out the mgm from our window
since meghan was sleeping, pat and i decided to wander around the casino.. didn’t make it far out of the wynn b/c it was hot and nothing really interesting… so we went back, took a shower and literally fell asleep till the the next day… or at least i did…

the wynn…the wynn with fountain and music (just like bellagio, but not as spectacular)… a view of the other side, cotai peninsula where the venetian is
sunday 6.14
we woke up fairly early in the morning since we had all pretty much went to sleep early… and we were starving so we had a early breakfast….got meghan the berry mix… which she absolutely LOVED… we ate at the same place b/c it was literally right out the elevator and we didn’t have to guess on what was on the menu…
the cook even came out and asked us how everything was going and in the end they gave us our very own wynn macau umbrella… which definitely came in handy later that morning…
i had wanted to take a tour of the older buildings of macau, especially the ruin of st. paul since it was one of those things you take a picture of when you’re in macau, and didn’t want to miss it…since we most likely won’t make it there for AWHILE… so pat found a walking tour we could take from our old lonely planet hong kong/macau book…
mini tour
we hadn’t gone very far when i saw this…

you typically see playgrounds for kids… but it was exercise machines for adults… it’s kinda hard to see, but it was quite a sight for us… anyway.. moving on… we ended up going in the wrong direction and had to take out the map… and check everything out… i hate not knowing where we’re going so i grabbed the book and we found out where we should be.. .by then it was getting a bit toasty b/c we had been walking around a bit and it was not early morning anymore…
now that we were on track i had more time to take a few more pictures… and i took A LOT of just the sidewalk… b/c it’s not everyday you have pretty mosaic tiled sidewalks!
THE hill
and i call it THE hill because that was a pretty brutal climb…. we started off at the bottom with the portuguese embassy…

fort monte
we finally made it… made a quick potty break… and had to go up MORE stairs… that’s when my quads started cramping up a little… grrr… but it was okay once i started walking again… by then we were ALL drenched in sweat and not sure meghan was in a good mood but we managed…
another view… on the inside…to the right is the museum what we wished was open b/c we needed A/C… “trying to look happy” family picture
the ruins of st. paul’s…at last!

lotus near the front of the ruins
mmmmmmmmm noodles
more mosaics on the walk back
we tried a WHOLE bunch of food… but the above were some of the more authentic macau dishes… EVERYTHING was soooooooo yummy… and we managed to keep meghan entertained… she did pretty well…

group picture
we couldn’t find a taxi back so we took a bus… and walked the rest of the way… here’s a picture of some bicycle rickshaws that people can take tours on…
got back and we gave meghan a bath put her in her pjs, read her a book and put her to sleep… then pat and i took showers and had to get ready for the wedding… and yes… this is STILL the SAME day! i brought my hair straightener… got the adapter, plugged it in, and proceeded to straighten my hair before realizing it started smoking…after one go, i quickly turned it off… and it wasn’t working! the humidity didn’t help… it makes my hair frizzy… so tried everything and it wasn’t working…and so luckily i had some hair product, enough to kinda make my hair manageable… and finally we were off to the wedding! it was nice dressing up and being able to go out

here’s our right before wedding picture…
THE WEDDING
we went down and luckily found the signs to the wedding and it was super close to our elevators…went up the escalator and began to mingle….had some yummy hors d’oeuvres… figured out what table we’d be sitting at… and soon we were being filed in for the ceremony… they provided the men with yarmulkas…so pat got his and we sat down…

the groom… the chuppa, soooo pretty….side view of steve wynn
the place was decorated so beautifully… the chuppa was so pretty too… they had lights on each corner that had little rainbows…i took a close-up picture of it…then the ceremony began….

pat in his yarmulka and in the background another picture of wynn

the menu of food for the night…
in between all the food there was A LOT of dancing… men and women separated… there was no way i was going to do the group dancing in heels… although it looked like a lot of fun! so i took pictures of the men side b/c there were a lot of acrobatics involved! or at least a lot of tossing the groom up in the air!

it was more drinks (none for me, of course)…WAY better music and a nice comfy couch to sit on!
we had so much fun…pat and i didn’t go back to the room till 2am! and i survived most of the night in my heels…only taking them off for a few seconds at the after party and then for sure taking them off as soon as we got off the elevator for our floor!
monday 6.15
woke up late… although i think we probably could have slept a lot longer, meghan was awake so we had to wake up… got up and had breakfast at are usual spot and saw most of the wedding party-goers going into breakfast as we were just about finishing up… packed up our stuff and took a taxi to the cotai peninsula to check out the venetian… if you look at this picture you’d think we’re in vegas, esp if i didn’t tell you we were actually in macau…

us at the venetian
outside of the venetian
we did a lot of walking around… the shoppes at the venetian were huge… they had to divide it into different sections b/c someone could get lost in there…. we ate at their food court… pat got this chicken for pretty cheap, along with some beer…just to taste
taxi back to the wynn to go to the ferry… view of a bridge
